A semiconductor materials provider relocated from Taiwan, headquartered in Singapore, specializing in high-quality packaging materials, including solder spheres and solder paste, supporting advanced chip packaging and global semiconductor assembly operations.
Job Summary
The Production Operator Team Leader is responsible for supervising production operators and ensuring daily production activities are carried out safely, efficiently and according to quality requirements. The role involves manpower arrangement, production monitoring, troubleshooting, discipline control, training and ensuring compliance with company procedures, safety regulations and production targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Operations
- Lead and supervise production operators during daily manufacturing activities.
- Ensure production output meets the planned schedule, productivity targets and delivery requirements.
- Monitor machine operation and production flow to minimise downtime and production interruption.
- Coordinate line changeover, machine setup and material preparation.
- Ensure production activities comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Escalate production issues, machine abnormalities and quality concerns to the supervisor or relevant department promptly.
- Assist in achieving production efficiency, yield and scrap reduction targets.
- Verify production records, reports and shift documentation are completed accurately.
- Monitor and control production WIP (Work-in-Progress).
2. Manpower & Team Management
- Arrange manpower allocation according to production planning and workload.
- Supervise attendance, punctuality, discipline and performance of production operators.
- Conduct on-job training and coaching for new and existing operators.
- Ensure operators follow company policies, safety rules and operational standards.
- Motivate and guide team members to achieve departmental objectives.
- Support employee performance evaluation and disciplinary actions when required.
- Conduct shift briefing and communicate production targets and priorities.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure products are produced according to quality specifications and customer requirements.
- Monitor production quality and ensure operators perform self-inspection properly.
- Coordinate with QA/QC department on quality issues, containment actions and corrective actions.
- Ensure non-conforming products are properly identified, segregated and reported.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
4. Safety, Health & Environment
- Ensure operators comply with safety procedures, PPE requirements and company regulations.
- Promote safe working practices and maintain good housekeeping standards (5S).
- Report accidents, unsafe conditions and near-miss incidents immediately.
- Participate in safety inspections and corrective actions.
- Ensure proper material handling and workplace cleanliness.
5. Machine & Equipment Monitoring
- Perform basic machine checking and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Coordinate with maintenance department for machine breakdown and preventive maintenance.
- Monitor machine utilisation and minimise downtime.
- Assist in troubleshooting minor production or machine issues.
6. Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and maintain daily production reports, attendance records and shift handover reports.
- Ensure all production records are updated accurately and filed properly.
- Support internal and external audits such as ISO, customer audits and safety audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GMP, ISO, 5S and manufacturing standards.
7. Perform any job tasks assign by superior.
Requirements
- Diploma / Certificate / SPM or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2–5 years of manufacturing or production experience.
- Leadership or supervisory experience in production environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process, safety practices and quality control.
- Able to work on shift rotation, overtime and public holidays when required.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer knowledge for report preparation and production recording.
