- Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked goods according to standard recipes and quality standards
- Assist in daily pastry kitchen operations including mise en place, preparation, baking, and finishing
- Ensure consistent product quality, presentation, taste, and portion control
- Follow hygiene, food safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with GMP/HACCP requirements
- Monitor and manage ingredient usage, stock levels, and report shortages to senior chefs
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry section, equipment, and workstation at all times
- Support new product development and seasonal menu creation when required
- Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen staff or commis
- Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients to maintain freshness and reduce wastage
- Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Perform other duties assigned by the kitchen management team
Job Requirements
- Certificate / Diploma in Pastry, Culinary Arts, or related field
- At least 2–4 years of experience in pastry kitchen (hotel, bakery, or F&B industry)
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and dessert presentation
- Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Good understanding of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen standards
- Team player with good discipline and attention to detail
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays if needed.
Salary Range: Up to RM4k
