Job Description 

  • Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked goods according to standard recipes and quality standards
  • Assist in daily pastry kitchen operations including mise en place, preparation, baking, and finishing
  • Ensure consistent product quality, presentation, taste, and portion control
  • Follow hygiene, food safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with GMP/HACCP requirements
  • Monitor and manage ingredient usage, stock levels, and report shortages to senior chefs
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry section, equipment, and workstation at all times
  • Support new product development and seasonal menu creation when required
  • Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen staff or commis
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients to maintain freshness and reduce wastage
  • Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Perform other duties assigned by the kitchen management team

Job Requirements

  • Certificate / Diploma in Pastry, Culinary Arts, or related field
  • At least 2–4 years of experience in pastry kitchen (hotel, bakery, or F&B industry)
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and dessert presentation
  • Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Good understanding of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen standards
  • Team player with good discipline and attention to detail
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays if needed.

Salary Range: Up to RM4k
